Clubeasy have been housing students for nearly 20 years. The company was founded in the city of Hull in 1987 as APS. The name change to Clubeasy took place 5 years ago when we introduced our all inclusive accommodation package. We now house over 2700 students in the cities of Durham, Exeter , Hull, Loughborough and Lincoln. Despite this growth we still pride ourselves on being a family owned and managed business.
The Head Office of the company is:
BEECHWOOD HOUSE
131 COTTINGHAM RD
HULL
HU5 2DH
We own all of our properties, we do not act as agents for anybody else. As such it is in our own best interest to keep our assets in good order. We do not have to refer to a third party to carry out maintenance work. We are corgi registered and we employ our own maintenance team in each city. All of our staff are security cleared and carry identification badges. We do use approved contractors for certain specialist work. They too are cleared and carry identification.
Maintenance issues can reported to us FOC by ringing an extension number in our office or by e mail or by popping into our office to see our maintenance administrator.
For many students signing up to a Tenancy Agreement is the first time that they have signed a legally binding document. Before any student signs an agreement with ClubEasy a trained member of staff will read it through in its entirety and explain the jargon in plain English. The tenancy agreement is displayed on our website (click here to view) with the plain English explanation under each clause.
We have arranged through our partners, Endsleigh Insurance, to give free basic possessions insurance if you would like to see a policy summary (click here to download). It is up to the student to decide whether this cover is enough for them and of course can upgrade with Endsleigh or any other Insurance company they wish. You can upgrade the policy at http://www.endsleigh.co.uk/scripts/blockhalls.cgi.
With yet another one of our partners, First-Call-Communications, we provide a 24 hr Emergency Helpline. First Call was set up primarily to deal with emergency callouts for Doctors and Dentists. As such they are used to dealing with stressful situations and identifying what is an emergency and what is not. (a microwave stopping working at 3.00am in the morning is not an emergency and we’ve had worse than that!) We describe an emergency as anything potentially harmful to the student and/or the property. In an emergency First Call will contact the engineer on call in that particular city who will attend and get help if required.
If a student manages to lock themselves out, the engineer will attend. However for that there is a £30 call out charge. This goes directly the poor guy who gets out of bed at 3.00am to let the student in. Basically we are saying "don’t lock yourself out", but if you do, we won’t leave you stranded.
With our third partner Kingston Communications we supply Broadband Internet Connection and a Telephone Line into every bedroom. The price of this is included in the rent. There are no constraints on the amount of time that the student can spend on the internet. However what they are doing is subject to Kingston Communications “Terms of Use” and “Acceptable User Policy”. These can be viewed online for each city at;
Durham
Exeter
Hull
Lincoln
Loughborough
All of our offices have one or more Student Liaison Officers. Whilst we are not baby sitters, we are here to help. We have a close relationship with the Universities and the various support groups therein. Parents can ring 08081 808080 and speak to us with any issues regarding our accommodation.
