Your room will be available from the date that your contract starts. Prior to you moving in we will have cleaned the house and carried out any remedial work we feel is required. You can collect your keys for your new home from your local office.
The offices are open 9.30 to 4.30 Monday to Friday. During the summer we will open on selected weekends to make it easier to collect your keys and move in.
Please, please, please check with your local ClubEasy.com office for these extra opening hours. We do not want you to arrive and find that the offices are closed.
You can arrange for other people to collect your keys on your behalf. However, for security reasons this must be done in writing.
On collection of keys you will be given:
In the case of shared houses the inventory will be given to the first person who collects the keys for the property. That person will need to check all communal areas and their own bedroom. The remaining tenants should then check their own rooms as they arrive. Please report anything you are not happy with to our maintainance administrator on the contact numbers provided in your welcome letter.
We used to supply all of these things however experience has taught us that the majority of students prefer to supply their own. As such, it is probably a good idea for groups in shared houses to decide who is going to bring what.
It can be useful to establish some ground rules with your housemates to help keep the house running reasonably smoothly. Setting cleaning rota’s, agreeing rules about house guests, noise levels when your housemates have an early lecture, all of these things and others you need to talk about.
Remember that, at the end of your tenancy, the property must be returned to ClubEasy.com in a clean and tidy state, as it was when you moved in.
Don’t forget with EasyStop, ClubEasy will give you the first opportunity to stay in your house for the next academic year. Eventually, however, you will have to leave us.
Towards the end of your tenancy, ClubEasy will send another letter thanking you for your business and reminding you of your obligations to leave the house clean and tidy.
If members of your household are leaving before the end of the contract, make sure that they do their fair share of work before they leave. Don't be left with 3 weeks of washing up and vacuuming to do a few hours before the house inspection is due!
Similarly, if you're having an end of year party, organise it so that you have at least a few days to clean up and repair any damage before the inspection.
Your keys should be handed back to your local ClubEasy.com office and signed in by yourself and a member of staff. The non return of keys is an administrative nightmare and results in the cost of replacements. You will be invoiced for the non return of keys. If it is impossible to return your keys during normal office hours please make arrangements with your local office.
Please ensure that all of your personal effects are taken away with you. Due to the sheer volume of tenants we look after we cannot store things. Anything left in the property will be discarded and as waste disposal is a costly business we will invoice you. Please take the time to plan your exit strategy.
Another thing to remember is to make sure that all of your friends, relatives, banks and Uni, know you are changing address. Contact the post office to put a divert on your mail so that you do not miss any important post. Again with over 2300 students we cannot hold or redirect mail.
Remember NO DEPOSIT! However, we will invoice you for any damage to the property or its contents that are not the result of fair wear and tear. This may all sound a bit harsh, but we believe in being upfront and honest with our tenants. With a bit of preplanning all will go smoothly.
